Contact Sakilis with questions and corrections

If you've found something wrong on this site, or you have a navigation question we haven't covered, this is where to send it.

Corrections · Questions · Suggestions

What to send us

Three kinds of messages are the most useful

Corrections: a fact on a page that's out of date or wrong. Questions: something about navigating UAE roads that our pages don't answer. Suggestions: a topic or location you think we should cover.

You don't need to be polite about it. Specific and blunt is more helpful than vague and friendly — a street name and a wrong turn beat a paragraph of context.

Corrections

A page states something that isn't right. Tell us which page, what it says, and what's correct.

Questions

Something about driving, public transport, offline maps or Makani numbers our pages leave open.

Suggestions

A road, route, district or transport connection you think deserves a guide of its own.

Reporting a factual error

Tell us the page, the claim, and what you saw

If a page states something that isn't right, tell us which page and what it says. If you can, say what the correct information is and how you know — a recent drive, a sign you saw, or a change in an app's behavior.

We update pages when the underlying facts shift. Your correction is what tells us a fact has shifted, so the more precise the detail, the faster it can be checked and worked in.

Name the page

A guide title is enough — for example the Salik and signs page, or the Makani address guide. That's where we start looking.

Quote the claim

Copy the sentence that's wrong, or describe it closely. A short quote is easier to match than a summary of the whole page.

Say what changed

A new interchange, a renamed exit, a shift in how an app routes you. When it changed matters as much as what changed.

Suggesting a location or topic

What's confusing, and who it affects

If there's a road, a route, a district or a transport connection you'd like covered, describe it. Tell us what's confusing about it and who it affects, because that helps us decide whether it belongs in a guide.

Suggestions about specific navigation problems, like a confusing interchange or a building that's hard to find, are especially welcome. The same goes for an exit that reads clearly on a map and badly on the ground — those gaps between map and road are what the site exists to close.

Roads and routes

An interchange, a service road, an inter-emirate leg, or a junction where signage and layout disagree.

Places and transport

A district, a metro or marine link, or a building whose entrance is genuinely hard to find on arrival.

Navigation questions

Ask about UAE navigation

If you have a question about driving in the UAE, public transport, offline maps or Makani numbers, send it. We can't answer every message individually, but common questions often turn into new sections or pages.

If your question is about live conditions right now, your navigation app will be faster than we can be. We're a written guide, not a live feed.

Send your message

Send a correction, question or suggestion

One form covers all three. Pick the closest match and write what you noticed — page name, the claim, and what you saw instead.

We use what you send only to review the message. See the privacy policy for how messages are handled.

What happens after you send

A human reads it

Messages go to the Sakilis team for review. Corrections are checked and, if confirmed, worked into the relevant page. Suggestions are considered for future coverage. Questions inform what we write next.

We don't run an automated reply system. Nothing here is answered by a bot, and no message is thrown away unread.

Corrections get checked

If what you report holds up, the page is edited. If it doesn't, the page stays as it is — either way the claim has been looked at.

Suggestions shape coverage

Ideas that come up more than once tend to become sections or pages. A single clear request is enough to be considered.

Questions become writing

Common questions often turn into a new section rather than a one-to-one reply, so the answer helps the next reader too.

No reply does not mean ignored

If you don't hear back, it doesn't mean your message was ignored. It may have been folded into an update without a reply.

Response times

We aim to review messages regularly, but this is a small operation and we don't promise a specific turnaround. Corrections that affect factual accuracy get priority, and those are usually read first.

What we can't help with

Where someone else is the right place

We don't provide real-time route guidance, live traffic readings, or directions for a trip you're taking right now. We're not affiliated with the RTA or any app maker, so we can't resolve account or app issues for you.

For anything about your Salik account, your vehicle registration, or a specific app's behavior, the relevant authority or app support is the right place. Sending it here will only add a step.

Live conditions right now

Your navigation app reads the road as it is today. We write about how the road works, which is a slower and more durable thing.

Salik, registration and vehicle paperwork

Account balances, top-ups, fines and renewals are handled by the authority that issued them, not by this site.

A specific app misbehaving

Bugs, missing roads and account problems belong with that app's own support. We compare how apps behave, we don't fix them.

Find the office

Al Shatha Tower, Sheikh Zayed Road

The office sits on Sheikh Zayed Road in Dubai, close to the Trade Centre stretch of the corridor. If you're coming by metro, the tower is a short walk from the Trade Centre side of the line; by car, plan for the service road rather than the main lanes.

Visits are by appointment during working hours. Email or the form above is the fastest way to reach the team — the map is here so you can find the building, not because we run a walk-in counter.

Before you write

Questions we get most often

Can you give me directions right now?

No. We don't provide live route guidance or read traffic as it happens. Your navigation app is built for that and will always be faster. What we can do is explain how a route, an interchange or a numbering system works so the app's instructions make more sense.

How do I report a map error in Dubai?

Use the form above and choose the correction option. Name the page, quote the sentence that's wrong, and say what you saw on the ground. A recent drive, a sign, or a change in how an app routes you are all useful evidence. If the error is inside a specific app rather than on our pages, that app's own feedback channel is the place for it.

Will I get a personal reply?

Sometimes, but not always. This is a small operation and we don't promise a specific turnaround. Corrections that affect factual accuracy get priority. If you don't hear back, your message may have been folded into a page update instead.

Do you cover public transport as well as driving?

Yes. Metro, tram and marine connections sit alongside the driving guides, because most trips in the UAE mix the two. If a connection between a station and a destination is unclear to you, that's exactly the kind of suggestion worth sending.

Are you part of the RTA or an app company?

No. Sakilis is an independent English-language guide. We're not affiliated with the RTA or any app maker, so account questions, fines and app bugs need to go to the body or company that runs them.

Still reading? The guides are the fastest answer

Most questions we receive are already answered somewhere on the site — navigation apps compared, offline maps, Makani numbers, Salik and signs, public transport, and live traffic. Start there, and write only if the guide leaves a gap.
